Partnership with the Germany SailGP Team

The Germany SailGP Team has set itself the task of raising awareness of mental health and drawing attention to the prevention and destigmatization of mental illness.
SailGP is an international sailing competition with high-performance F50 foiling catamarans, in which teams compete against each other over the course of a season with several Grand Prix around the world.

The German team's racing catamaran will now bear the Mental Health Initiative logo. The athletes will also actively support the work of the initiative themselves. To this end, members of the sailing crew, the technical team and also the management have taken part in a course in which we have trained them as YAM course assistants.

Sport and mental health are a perfect match. Regular sporting activity strengthens mental health and prevents mental illness. On the other hand, the mental state of the players plays a decisive role in competition and a fair test of strength, especially in top-class sport. We therefore welcome the partnership, as it opens up the opportunity to give much more visibility to the importance of mental health and to bring our YAM program into sport. Together, we can reach young people in sailing clubs and sports associations.
